Wood doesn’t lie. Grain tells you which way a board wants to move, moisture tells you how long it’ll hold its shape, and if you don’t respect both before the blade, no finish work saves the piece later. That’s the reason Forever Hardwood exists.

I’m Lawrence, and before I was selling lumber, I was standing at a bench like the rest of you, reading drawings and cutting joinery by hand, learning the hard way which boards held their shape and which ones warped or cracked. In 2025, I turned that experience into Forever Hardwood, because I was tired of buying lumber from suppliers who’d never actually built anything with it.

That’s still what sets us apart. We select and mill every board, including S4S lumber, rough stock, hardwood flooring, mouldings, and stair parts, and back it with milling services and the tools to finish the job. We choose with the same eye a woodworker uses at the bench: grain direction, moisture content, and how a piece will expand and contract once it’s in your shop. We know what you’re building because we’ve built it ourselves, and we mill lumber to hold up to the same precise cuts and joinery we once shaped by hand.

We exist to give woodworkers, contractors, and DIYers across Elk Grove and the greater Sacramento region lumber they can trust, so your hours go into building, not troubleshooting a board that never should have left our mill.
